My interests as somatic therapist, artist and performer is the relationship between the mind and the body (mind-body dualism). I believe the nature and experience of being remains a great mystery. Our human capacity for very abstract and analytical thoughts can ensconce us in our minds. Our complex modification of the physical and virtual environments we interact with in turn shape our behavior, psychology and ways we relate to one another. We can live in the extremes of the body or in the extremes of the mind, but the challenge is to find balance and access to in-betweens.
The age old question of “to be or not to be?, becomes, to me ‘to integrate or not integrate?'
I offer two kinds of body work: structural integration/rolfing method, and then a more intuitive form of body work that is informed by Rolfing, dance, yoga and somatic therapy, but also contains elements of Thai, shiatsu and guided stretching. Some people are drawn toward deep fascia work and the specific container of the 10-series, whereas some people are looking for one-off more general sessions.
